•A monthly training stipend

•A chance to pitch to the Investment Committee for startup capital of up to US$5,000

ClimateCAP MBA Fellowship 2027

 ClimateCAP MBA Fellowship 2027

ClimateCAP Fellowship 2027, climate fellowship for MBA students, fellowship for Nigerians, MBA fellowship 2027, climate leadership fellowship

Are you an MBA student in Nigeria who wants a career in climate and business? The ClimateCAP MBA Fellowship 2027 may be for you, but only if you meet one key requirement. Here is everything you need to know.

Are Nigerians Eligible for the ClimateCAP Fellowship?

Yes, with one condition: you must be a currently enrolled MBA student. Students from any geography are able to apply, and the program rules say international students are welcome to apply. This is not a fellowship for undergraduates or general postgraduate students. If you are not in an MBA program, you are not eligible.

What Is the ClimateCAP Initiative?

ClimateCAP's mission is to prepare tomorrow's business leaders, today's MBA students, to understand and respond to the climate challenge. It is managed by Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. It has grown into a global partnership of nearly 50 top-tier MBA programs and 3,000 engaged MBA students.

What Is the Fellowship About?

It is a 12-month, cohort-based experience for MBA students who want to deepen their expertise on the business of climate, running January through December. Fellows complete a climate-and-business project. Examples include planning or launching a climate-related business or social enterprise, or creating new learning opportunities on climate topics at their school. At the end of the year, fellows present their project to the ClimateCAP leadership team and their peers.  (Empowering the Next Generation of Climate Leaders: Inside the ClimateCAP Fellowship

Cost: The official application page says there is no application fee or programme cost.

Award: ClimateCAP gives a monetary award each year to selected fellows. However, it cannot guarantee that international students will be eligible to receive direct payment of award funds. Nigerian applicants should keep this in mind.  (ClimateCAP MBA Fellowship 2027: Apply for a Global Climate Leadership Fellowship for MBA Students - Opportunities for Youth +2)

Who Should Apply?

-MBA students who will be enrolled for the whole of 2027, including dual-degree students, as long as one degree is an MBA

-Career switchers: there is no expectation of professional experience in climate change

-Applicants with strong English, which is essential to take part

Important Things Nigerian Applicants Should Know

Everything is virtual except the ClimateCAP Summit on February 5-6, 2027 at Fordham's Gabelli School of Business in New York City.

Fellows are expected to buy a ticket for the Summit and travel to it. Nigerian fellows should plan early for a US visa and travel costs.

Program events take place during US daytime hours, which is evening in Nigeria.

Fellowship prize money is considered taxable income.

Application Deadline

•Applications opened: October 1, 2026

•Deadline: October 26, 2026 (only 10 days away)

•Fellows notified: early December 2026

•Some candidates may be invited for a brief virtual conversation in late November. The closing time for 2027 isn't stated in what I found. Last year's deadline was 5 PM EST, so submit well before October 26.

How to Apply

The application is done entirely online. Last year's application needed an application form, a resume, acknowledgment of Fellow Expectations, and short written responses, and the 2027 requirements are likely similar. You will also identify a climate-and-business issue you want to explore during the fellowship. Start drafting that now.

BBFORPEACE Training 2026: Strategic Communications in Countering Violent Extremism in West Africa (Abuja)

Work in peacebuilding, community engagement, or public messaging? You have one week left to apply for a two-day, in-person training in Abuja on how strategic communication can counter violent extremism across West Africa.

Quick Facts

•Programme: Strategic Communications in Countering Violent Extremism in West Africa

•Organiser: Building Blocks for Peace Foundation (BBFORPEACE)

•Dates: 3rd–4th November 2026

What Is This Training About?

This is a regional training on how communication can be used to prevent and counter violent extremism (P/CVE). Its theme is "Shaping Narratives and Strengthening Resilience." Extremist narratives, misinformation, and digital influence keep shaping security in West Africa. The training looks at how civil society can respond with credible, community-rooted peace messages.

Selected participants are expected to build practical skills in:

-Understanding extremist narratives and how they influence communities

-Analysing target audiences, information ecosystems, and trusted messengers

-Developing credible alternative narratives and positive peace messages

-Tackling misinformation, harmful rumours, and emerging digital risks

-Strengthening community resilience through strategic communication

-Designing practical communication interventions against violent extremism

-Participants will also exchange knowledge with peers and join a regional community of practice on peacebuilding and P/CVE.

Who Is This Training For?

The call targets civil society practitioners across West Africa, especially people working or interested in:

•Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

•Preventing and countering violent extremism

•Community engagement and youth development

•Strategic communication and public messaging

•Promoting peaceful coexistence and resilient communities

•If you run a community-based organisation, work in a peace or development NGO, or do media and communications for a civil society group, this is worth your time.

The call does not say whether the training is funded, whether travel or accommodation is covered, or what minimum experience is required. It does describe the target group as "experienced" civil society practitioners, so highlight your hands-on work in your application. Before travelling, confirm logistics with BBFORPEACE at info@bbforpeace.org or through bbforpeace.org.

How to Apply

Open the application form: https://bit.ly/4B1IpNJ

Fill in your details accurately and show how your work connects to peacebuilding, P/CVE, or communication.

Submit before 23rd October 2026.

Selected applicants will be contacted after the deadline.

Nigeria is an Afreximbank member state, so Nigerian students qualify. You can confirm on the Bank's website, which carries the full list of member countries.

What Is the Afreximbank Internship About?

The program gives good students a chance to learn the Afreximbank Group's mandate and operating model, while interns bring fresh and diverse ideas to its operations. It is a structured, merit-based program based at the Bank's headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Afreximbank is a financial institution that supports African trade, so interns get exposure to trade finance and economic development work.

Who Is It For?

-Students with proof of full-time enrollment in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in the year of the internship are preferred.

-You must be between 20 and 32 years old in the year you apply.

-Children of Afreximbank staff are not eligible.

-Fields like economics, finance, accounting, business administration, law, engineering, statistics and social sciences are commonly listed. Knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese is an added advantage.

Benefits

•Airport or hotel transfers on arrival and departure, a residence visa where required, and medical insurance for the duration of the internship.

•Several opportunity sites advertise a stipend of up to USD 1,000. One describes it as a monthly tax-free stipend.

•International work experience at one of Africa's leading financial institutions.

Note: The official Afreximbank page I found lists transfers, visa support and insurance, but doesn't mention a stipend. Earlier official postings also said interns cover their own upkeep. Please check the stipend and insurance terms on the official portal before you plan around them.

What You'll Need to Apply

Past official postings asked for a short statement of intent (maximum one A4 page) on what you expect to gain. They also asked for a recommendation from your institution, including your proposed internship period of up to six months. One listing also says to upload proof of full-time enrollment with your CV. Prepare all of these early.

Deadline

The deadline October 31, 2026. Today is October 16, so you have about two weeks. so don't wait until the last day. (the african export import bank afreximbank internship program 2027 2028 for young africans with up to usd 1000 in stipend +2)

ANCA Nature Executive Fellowship 2027: Fully Funded

ANCA Nature Executive Fellowship 2027: Fully Funded

If you are a senior professional in Nigeria working in finance, sustainability, conservation or development, this fellowship could take you to Cape Town, Oxford and London. The African Natural Capital Alliance (ANCA) Nature Executive Fellowship 2027 is now accepting applications for its third cohort, and the deadline is close.

What Is the ANCA Nature Executive Fellowship?

The Nature Executive Fellowship is a twelve-month leadership programme that trains Africa's next generation of nature finance leaders. It combines world-class teaching with a hands-on project. Fellows gain the skills and networks to mobilise capital for nature across the continent.

The programme is delivered with the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, the University of Oxford's Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, and the London School of Economics. It is funded by the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). ANCA is an African-led alliance of financial institutions, regulators and project developers, and its Secretariat is hosted by FSD Africa.

Are Nigerians Eligible?

Yes. The fellowship is open to leaders whose work and project focus on Africa, and Nigeria is in Africa. Past cohorts have included professionals from across the continent, including a fellow from Nigeria's Access Bank PLC. Applicants based outside Africa should note that the programme is for leaders whose work and proposed project are Africa-focused.

Who Is This Fellowship For?

ANCA is looking for executives and senior leaders with a proven record in sustainability, resilience and leadership. You are an ideal candidate if you:

•Are a senior executive who wants deeper expertise in natural capital and biodiversity finance

•Are ready to lead a real-world nature-based solutions (NbS) project in your organisation or industry

•Have your employer's nomination and support to attend all modules and complete the programme

•A nature-based solutions project is a requirement. It does not need to be fully developed, but it must be genuine, supported by your institution and able to progress over the twelve months.

The selection committee also looks at seniority, institutional commitment to nature, and a clear, complete application. It builds a balanced cohort across gender, geography and sector. Preference goes to candidates from ANCA member organisations, but non-members with exceptional potential are also considered.

Benefits of the Fellowship

•Strategic expertise from leading global institutions, applied to Africa's biodiversity challenges

•Leadership skills to drive nature-based initiatives at the top of your organisation

•A pan-African network of peers, alumni, investors, regulators and technical experts

•Project support to move your own NbS project toward implementation and capital mobilisation

•A certificate of completion signed by all programme partners

What Is Covered, and What Isn't

Programme costs, accommodation and some meals during the three residential modules are fully funded. You are responsible for your own flights, visas and travel and medical insurance. ANCA provides an invitation letter for visa applications.

Both UK and South African visas may be needed. UK visa processing can take several weeks, so apply early if you are selected.

SMEDAN ₦50,000 Conditional Grant 2026: Who Can Apply and How to Register

SMEDAN ₦50,000 Conditional Grant 2026: Who Can Apply and How to Register

Running a small business in Nigeria and looking for funding that doesn't come with interest or repayment? The Federal Government, through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), is offering a ₦50,000 Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) for nano businesses. Yes, Nigerians are eligible. The scheme is designed for Nigerian business owners.

What Is the SMEDAN Conditional Grant Scheme?

The Conditional Grant Scheme is a SMEDAN programme that gives grants to nano businesses to support their workforce and help them buy equipment. It is aimed at small businesses that often struggle to get bank loans.

The grant is non-repayable and carries no interest, as long as you meet the conditions attached. The scheme is also described as available across Nigeria's local government areas.

Quick Facts

-Programme: Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS)

-Organiser: SMEDAN, Federal Government of Nigeria

-Grant amount: ₦50,000 (fixed)

-Repayment: None, if conditions are met

Who it's for

-Nano businesses at local government level

-Application fee Free

-Deadline: No closing date announced

-Official link ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผsmedan.gov.ng/our-programs/cgs

Who Is the SMEDAN Grant For?

SMEDAN says the programme is designed for nano businesses at the local government level. If you run a small shop, tailoring or fashion business, food business, salon, or any small trade or service, this is likely meant for you.

The condition: you are expected to employ at least one person with the grant. That is why it is called a "conditional" grant. It exists to encourage job creation.

What Do You Get?

•A ₦50,000 grant with no repayment, provided you meet the conditions

•Support to run your business, buy essential equipment, and bring someone on to work with you

•Grant recipients may also be asked for periodic reports or monitoring, so use the money for genuine business needs and keep your records.

Information You Need to Register

The registration form on the SMEDAN page asks for:

•Full name

•Email address

•Phone number

•Business name

•CAC number

•Industry

•Years in business

Note the CAC number field. If your business isn't registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission yet, sort that out first so you're ready when you apply.

How to Apply: Step by Step

Go to the official SMEDAN page: https://smedan.gov.ng/our-programs/cgs/

Scroll to "Register Interest."

Fill in your personal and business details accurately.

Submit the form.

Watch your email, phone, and SMEDAN's official channels for updates on the next stages.

Apply here: https://smedan.gov.ng/our-programs/cgs/

Application Deadline

No closing date has been announced. SMEDAN's page doesn't state one, and recent reports on the scheme say the same. Applications are also opened in phases, so don't wait. Register while the portal is open, and check the official page for the latest status.

Is the SMEDAN Grant Different from the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme?

Yes. They are two separate programmes, though both offer ₦50,000 to qualifying nano businesses. This post covers the SMEDAN CGS. Don't mix up the two when searching for updates.

Avoid Scams

Apply only through smedan.gov.ng.

Application is free. Anyone asking you to pay to "process" or "release" your grant is a scammer.

Registering your interest does not guarantee you'll receive the grant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Nigerians apply for the SMEDAN grant?

Yes. It is a Federal Government programme for Nigerian nano businesses.

How much is the grant?

₦50,000, a fixed amount.

Do I have to pay it back?

No, as long as you meet the scheme's conditions.

Do I need a registered business?

The registration form asks for a CAC number, so have your business registered.

What is the deadline?

No deadline has been announced yet.
