Nalafem Fund 2026: $1,500 Grants for Young African Women
Are Nigerians eligible? Yes. it is open to all African countries.
What Is the Nalafem Fund?
The Nalafem Fund offered three grants of US$1,500 each to support young feminist initiatives advancing the Africa Young Women Beijing+25 Manifesto during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
Nalafem is a pan-African platform of women politicians and activists, launched in 2021 at the UN Generation Equality Forum. Through its Academy, it has trained over 50,000 young women in areas such as bodily autonomy, GBV and economic empowerment.
What Is the Beijing+25 Manifesto?
It was developed in 2020 through consultations with 1,500 African youth from 44 countries. It carries 10 bold demands, including ending gender-based violence and protecting sexual and reproductive health rights. Your project had to advance one or more of these demands. (oxfam) (sahiyo)
Who Could Apply?
Nalafem invited young women's groups, feminist collectives, networks and individual young women advocates under 40. That means you didn't need a registered NGO. A Nigerian women's group, a campus network or an individual advocate under 40 all qualified.
