Civic Youth Forum 2026 — Copenhagen, Denmark: Applications Are Now Open Worldwide
If you are a young leader between the ages of 16 and 45 who is passionate about governance, public policy, civic leadership, or democratic engagement, here is an international opportunity you do not want to miss.
The Civic Youth Forum 2026 (CYF 2026) has opened applications to young people from all over the world. Organised by the Centre for Diplomatic Advancement (CDA), the forum will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 17 to 20 September 2026 — a four-day intensive programme offering 500 scholarships across fully funded, partially funded, and free access categories.
What Is the Civic Youth Forum?
CYF 2026 is an international youth forum focused on democracy, governance, civic leadership, and public policy engagement.
The programme brings together 500+ young leaders, students, activists, and professionals from around the world to engage in policy discussions, leadership training, and global networking in one of Europe's most progressive cities.
Copenhagen is known across the world as a model city for public engagement, sustainable governance, and civic trust — making it more than just a location. It is a real-world learning environment for young leaders interested in civic involvement and governance.
What Will You Do There?
Over four days, participants will engage in hands-on, structured activities including:
Policy Labs — working on real-world governance challenges and formulating evidence-based solutions and policies.
Democracy Dialogues — covering civic engagement, rights, political systems, and inclusion. Participants also gain practical leadership communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills taught by experienced practitioners, as well as sessions connecting UN Sustainable Development Goals to real policy tools.
Who Is It For?
The forum is open to applicants from all nationalities aged 16 to 45, including students, young professionals, activists, researchers, and community leaders. No geographic restriction applies, and the programme aims for a globally diverse cohort. No IELTS, TOEFL, or academic degree requirement applies.
The programme is conducted entirely in English.
Whether you are a student, a small business owner with interest in governance, an NGO leader, a researcher, or simply someone who wants to understand how policies shape communities — this forum is designed for you.
What Are the Scholarship Categories?
There are three categories of participation:
-100 Fully Funded seats — the highest tier of support,
-150 Partially Funded seats, and
-250 Free Forum Access seats — making it one of the biggest youth forums in Europe in terms of scholarship availability.
The fully funded category covers international airfare, visa fees, shared accommodation, and meals. A non-refundable application fee of $17 applies.
The good news: you only need to submit one application and you are automatically considered for all scholarship categories — the selection committee places you in the best available option based on your application.
What Do Participants Receive?
Benefits include an official invitation letter that can support visa applications, an international certificate of participation, access to all policy laboratories and networking events, and recognition of leadership accomplishments in civic and governmental leadership.
