Smart Aid Initiative Civic Space Resilience and Advocacy Training 2026: Apply If You Are a Young Person in Kano State
Are you a young person in Kano State who speaks up for accountability, human rights, peace or good governance? Smart Aid Initiative has an opportunity for you.
The organisation has opened applications for a Two-Day Civic Space Resilience and Advocacy Training in Kano State. It is run under the Safe Voices for Civic Accountability Project, and the deadline is 12 October 2026, so you need to move fast.
What Is the Civic Space Resilience and Advocacy Training?
The training aims to build the capacity of young civic actors to safely exercise and defend freedom of expression and peaceful association. It is especially timely because it targets the period leading up to the 2027 general elections.
Elections often bring heated conversations, online attacks, misinformation and pressure on activists, journalists and content creators. This training is meant to help young people stay safe, stay effective and keep speaking up responsibly.
The flyer also shows that the programme is supported by CIVICUS, the global civil society alliance.
