💰 What Is the Grant?
Together Women Rise plans to invest at least $1 million in its Featured Grant program this year — an increase of about 35% over 2025 grants awarded. Featured Grants range in size from $35,000 to $50,000, and fund organizations and projects that address the varied issues and needs of women and girls in the Global South, including education, healthcare, economic opportunities, gender-based violence, child marriage, and more.
The funding is typically disbursed over a 24-month period, providing recipients with the stability needed to implement and sustain their projects effectively.
What Is the Programme For?
Together Women Rise funds projects and organizations that are making life-changing differences for women and girls in low-income communities in the Global South — reaching the most vulnerable and marginalized communities, women and girls living in extreme poverty, often in some of the most remote areas of the world.
They fund a range of projects related to women's economic opportunities, education, leadership, health, safety and security, and climate justice. Many grants fund integrated approaches that address multiple, interconnected challenges — projects that combine education with health services and economic empowerment, for example.
The core philosophy is this: organizations and projects funded will create lasting change in the lives of the women and/or girls they serve, and must actively include their perspectives — providing solutions identified by the women and girls being served.
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is designed for nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives of women and girls across low-income and marginalized communities in the Global South. Organizations working at the intersection of empowerment, health, education, and sustainability are strongly encouraged to apply.
Additionally, women must make up the majority of the organization's leadership, reinforcing the programme's commitment to women-led solutions.
Key eligibility conditions include:
-Applicant must not have received a Together Women Rise grant within the past four years.
-Organizations using a fiscal sponsor must have a verifiable, existing relationship with that sponsor in place for at least the past 12 months.
-Grants support capacity building, programme expansion, or the development of new initiatives. Funding cannot be used for debt reduction, endowments, election campaigns, lobbying, or government entities.
How to Apply — Step by Step
The application process works in three stages:
-Eligibility Questionnaire — Complete a brief form to determine your eligibility
-Organisation Profile — Eligible applicants receive instructions to create an online profile
-Full Application — Includes IRS documentation, operating budget, Form 990s, and fiscal sponsor agreement (if applicable)
-After being selected, grantees must provide high-quality photos, a short video, impact stories, and progress reports. Participation in webinars and regular check-ins is required over the grant period.
