If you are a young Nigerian entrepreneur living with a disability, here is a funding opportunity you cannot afford to miss. The This Ability 5.0 Grant, powered by Premium Power Solutions and organised by Raising Star Africa Foundation, is offering a ₦300,000 grant to support your business — no repayment, no equity, just real money to grow your hustle.
About Raising Star Africa Foundation
Raising Star Africa Foundation is a Non-governmental organization founded in 2020 by Michael Showunmi — himself a person with disability from a less-privileged background in Lagos, Nigeria. His personal experience navigating a society that was hostile to differently-abled individuals ignited his passion to build an inclusive Africa where every differently-abled person has a voice and equal opportunity.
Since its inception, the Foundation has reached over 15,000 children in different communities across various states in Nigeria, with programmes spanning educational inclusion, vocational training, and economic empowerment.
The This Ability Grant is now in its fifth edition — a clear sign that the programme is delivering real results and growing stronger every year.
What Is the This Ability 5.0 Grant?
The grant is designed to stimulate a disability continuum that is economically empowered. The Foundation enrolls young adults with disabilities who are entrepreneurs in financial training and provides grants to support their businesses — stimulating economic empowerment of the disability ecosystem.
In simple terms: if you have a disability and you're running a business or trying to grow one, this grant was designed specifically for you.
Grant Prize

Entrepreneurs living with disabilities in Nigeria face a double disadvantage — the everyday challenges of building a business, compounded by systemic barriers that make accessing funding even harder. The This Ability Grant exists to close that gap. Premium Power Solutions stepping in as a sponsor signals growing private sector commitment to disability inclusion in Nigerian entrepreneurship.
This is also a reminder that disability is not inability. Across Nigeria, differently-abled entrepreneurs are building remarkable businesses — they just need the right support at the right time.
