Your Followers Could Change Lives — Here's Your Chance to Prove It
Amnesty International Nigeria & the Embassy of Germany Are Looking for Young Digital Creators. Is This You?
If you've been using your social media to talk about things that matter — justice, fairness, freedom, people's rights — then Amnesty International Nigeria just opened a door specifically for you.
They're recruiting a Micro-Influencer Cohort as part of their programme titled "Strengthening Human Rights Defenders to Protect Civic Space," funded in partnership with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Abuja. Applications close on 12th May 2026 — so if this speaks to you, don't sleep on it.
What Is This About?
Amnesty International Nigeria is building a team of young digital creators who will join their cohort and use their online platforms to amplify conversations around human rights, civic engagement, and social impact — in an intentional, responsible, and ethical way.
This isn't a brand deal. It's not about selling a product. It's about using your platform for something that outlasts a trend cycle. It's about becoming part of a movement that fights for people's dignity and freedom.
Who Is This For?
This opportunity is designed for young Nigerians between 18 and 35 years old who are:
-Based in Lagos, Abuja, or Enugu
-Already creating content — with 10,000 to 25,000 followers on at least one platform (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, or TikTok)
-Passionate about human rights, social impact, civic engagement, or ethical storytelling
-Able to create content that is engaging and socially relevant
-Available to participate in programme activities between May and August 2026
Why Should You Apply?
1. Your influence has a bigger purpose.
You've already built an audience. Most creators are still figuring out how to turn that into income or impact. This cohort helps you channel your reach into something that genuinely matters — protecting civic space and human rights in Nigeria.
2. You're backed by a global institution.
Amnesty International is one of the most respected human rights organisations in the world. Being part of their micro-influencer cohort puts your name alongside serious, credible work — the kind that builds your long-term reputation, not just your follower count.
3. It's a real programme, not a gig.
This is a structured cohort with a clear timeline (May–August 2026). That means training, community, support, and purpose — not just a brief and a hashtag.
4. The timing couldn't be more important.
Nigeria's civic space is under real pressure. Voices that speak truth, document injustice, and mobilise communities online are more needed now than ever. If you've been waiting for a reason to use your platform boldly — this is it.
The application deadline is 12th May 2026.
Not every opportunity is about money. Some are about legacy — about being able to say, "I used what I had to speak for those who couldn't." If you have a platform, a conscience, and a voice, Amnesty International Nigeria wants to work with you.
