₦2,000,000 Up for Grabs: Her Essence Foundation Is Funding Female-Owned Businesses — Apply Before April 30

₦2,000,000 Up for Grabs: Her Essence Foundation Is Funding Female-Owned Businesses — Apply Before April 30

If you are a female entrepreneur in Nigeria between the ages of 25 and 35, this is one opportunity you cannot afford to scroll past.

Her Essence Foundation has opened applications for its Business Support Grant for Women — and the prize is up to ₦2,000,000 in startup funding for female entrepreneurs whose businesses are making a real difference.

What Is Her Essence Foundation?

Her Essence Foundation is a women-empowerment organisation whose tagline reads: "Empowering Women, Igniting Possibilities." The foundation runs initiatives designed to uplift and resource women in business, and this grant is one of its flagship programmes. Past recipients have been presented with cheques at what appears to be a formal awards event — meaning this is a credible, structured initiative with real winners.

What Is the Grant About?

The Her Essence Foundation Business Support Grant awards up to ₦2,000,000 in startup funding to qualifying female entrepreneurs. The grant is targeted at women who are not just building businesses for profit, but who are building businesses that matter — businesses that actively address global challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Who Qualifies?

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following criteria:

-Your business must present a transformative idea that actively addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

-Your business must have been in operation for 2 to 5 years

-The business must be female-owned

-You, as the founder, must be female and between the ages of 25 and 35

-Your business must be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)

This is not a grant for complete beginners, nor is it for established corporations. It is specifically designed for women in the early-to-mid growth stage of their entrepreneurial journey — those who have proven their concept but need real capital to scale.

Why This Matters

Female entrepreneurs in Nigeria face significant structural barriers to accessing funding. Most grant programmes either target large NGOs, corporate entities, or are open only to specific geographies. Her Essence Foundation is stepping into a critical gap — funding female-founded, SDG-aligned businesses with women who are young, ambitious, and already in motion.

The fact that winners receive physical cheques at a public event also signals something important: this grant comes with visibility. Being named a Her Essence Foundation grantee could open doors beyond the ₦2,000,000 itself.
