NG-Cares Grant Program Batch 2: Supporting Small Businesses During Tough Economic Times.

NG-Cares Grant Program Batch 2: Supporting Small Businesses During Tough Economic Times

The NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2, an integral facet of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Program, has emerged as a beacon of hope for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) grappling with the enduring effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In recognition of the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on MSMEs, the NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2 has been established to deliver much-needed financial assistance to these businesses. This support aims to help them navigate the ongoing economic challenges and foster a sustainable recovery.

The NG-Cares Grant is a government initiative designed to provide financial assistance to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program aims to safeguard employment, preserve livelihoods, and stimulate economic activity at the local level by offering three distinct Delivery Link Indicators (DLIs):

DLI 3.1: Credit Enhancement Grants provides working capital to distressed MSEs, enabling them to resume normal operations and meet their financial obligations.

DLI 3.2: Operations Grants offers one-off grants to cover essential operational expenses such as salaries, rent, and utilities, ensuring the continued existence of businesses and their ability to retain employees.

DLI 3.3: IT Enhancement Grant facilitates grants for MSMEs to adopt digital technologies and integrate digital platforms, enhancing their operational efficiency, expanding their market reach, and strengthening their competitive edge in the digital era.

The NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2 is a crucial initiative that addresses the specific needs of MSMEs and plays a vital role in their recovery and long-term sustainability

To make the application process simpler and more accessible, the NG-Cares Grant Programme Batch 2 has removed the need to upload documents upfront. Instead, the online registration form only asks for basic information about your business, such as its name, type, number of employees, and annual turnover. This streamlined approach aims to reduce the administrative burden and encourage more eligible micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to apply.
