1. Open WhatsApp and tap on the 3 dots icon
2. Tap on Settings , and also click on Account
3. Tap on Privacy and disable the Read Receipts option
You can go and view anyone status, they won't see you in the viewed by notification.
You can later turn on the Read Receipts option when you want.
