APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR WOMANUP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Applications open for the WomanUp Scholarship Programme. 




The WomanUp Programme intends to raise a crop of excellent women who will excel in their academics and subsequent career, and move us significantly towards achieving gender equality.


ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible, you must meet all of the following requirements.

- Female

- ⁠Nigerian 

- ⁠Recently admitted to study in a Nigerian public university (only for females looking to start their first year of university)

- ⁠Academic excellence 

- ⁠Demonstrate financial need 

- ⁠Be willing to fill in monthly reports and attend monthly check-in sessions 

- ⁠Be willing to attend mentoring events 

- ⁠Ready to participate in career development opportunities like attending conferences, taking up fellowships, publishing papers, etc

Note: online interviews will be conducted with shortlisted applicants to verify suitability.


BENEFITS:

- Full university tuition fees paid directly to the University bank account per year for 4 years of university.

- Stipend of 100,000 Naira per semester.

- 50,000 Naira to cover the cost of departmental and faculty registration.

 - Fees and stipend for the next year will only be paid upon providing evidence of top academic performance in the previous year.

 - Monthly internet subscription for members of the cohort so that there are no limitations for them to study, do part-time remote work, or attend monthly coaching or check-in sessions.

- Dedicated mentoring for each cohort so that they don’t just focus on academics, but also develop professional and leadership excellence.

- Conference attendance will be funded for members of the cohort, especially if they are presenting a paper at the conference.

 - Opportunities for them to work part-time (10 hours a week), virtually, so that they can add work experience to their CV when they graduate.

- Pre-graduation support, including support with application for postgraduate studies and scholarship applications to top Universities abroad. 

- Application fees will be paid for members of the cohort who graduate with a First Class and wish to apply to the University of Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Yale, or other IVY league universities.

- International passport application fees will be paid for members of the cohort who graduate with excellent grades and stand a high chance of getting foreign scholarships or fellowships abroad. 


-This also applies to members of the cohort who, at any point in their study, get a travel grant to present a paper at an international conference.

 

- Monthly coaching sessions for in-demand professional skills such as grant writing, CV writing, cover letter writing, applying for fellowships, and applying for postgraduate studies.


- Invitations to top professional events and provision of recommendations to top mentors within their field. 


- Workshops to teach members of the cohort how to develop business ideas from their fields of expertise. 


- Lifetime membership of The Mkpouto Pius Foundation with additional benefits.

Application are now open for the 776 Foundation Climate Fellowship 2024. The 776 Foundation Climate Fellowship is a  two year program for young people who want to build a better future. The seven seven six network is searching for the builders, the doers- people motivated by problem and using that energy to create real, measurable solutions that will benefit underserved communities. 

There are some big ideas that can't wait- especially when it comes to climate change and 776 wants to support problem solvers at the earliest possible stage. The Fellowship program gives 20 remarkable people the age of 24 and under the chance to spend two years working on the bright ideas that's keeping them up at night. They'll benefit from a community of peers and access to the extended 776 network through Cerebro (our firm's operating system)


The Fellowship Aims to:
1. Invest in young people tackling climate change. Some of our best minds around the world aren't able to take two years off to focus on solving the greatest threat to humanity: climate change, we're equipping some of the most driven future leaders with the capital and support needed to fully immerse themselves in what could be the next world saving idea. 

2. Scale the impact of 776: the team at 776 is tasked with backing exceptional founder as early as possible in their journey, giving potential founders the space and time (and money) to build something great. 

3. Enrich their community with the next generation of talent. This program will deeply challenge our Fellows to think critically and creatively and will turnout the next generation of great founders and operators. This fellowship program can be the springboard for unlimited opportunities because it's reaching so deep into a pool of talented individuals before their careers have even started. 

Benefits:
1. You're willing to skip or drop out of university to focus exclusively on a project , idea, or initiative full-time that is working toward solving the climate change crisis.

2. Fellows must be ages 18-24 and can live anywhere in the world

2. They are looking for a wide ranges of ideas, as climate changes is technological, social, and political issue.

- A Paid vacation
- A networking program; your job as a fellow is to ship

 ITU-Huawei Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP) 2025 




The Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme GCYLP is an exciting programme to engage, empower, and inspir le young digital leaders and change makers. GCYLP is supporting young visionaries from around the world who propose creative, far-reaching, innovative, and feasible community -drivenbprojecta aimed at creating a more inclusive and empowered digital future. 

International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in partnership with Huawei, is providing guidance, training, and financial support to 30 young fellows per year to enable them to practically implement digital development projects in their diverse communities across the globe. Through this programme, young leaders have the unique opportunity to make new digital development ideas a reality, or to expand the impact of their existing projects. 


BENEFITS:
1. Virtual mentorship and leadership training sessions from ITU and Huawei.

2. Participation in an in-person Global Development Week in Geneva Switzerland in July 2025.

3. Up to $10,000 grant to implement a digital development project of your choice. All 30 selected fellows will receive an initial $5,000 grant towards the implementation of a digital development project of their choice. The most  impactful projects at the end of the year will receive an extra $5,000 grant to scale up.


ELIGIBILITY:
1. Young person aged 18-28.

2. Interested in making real impact in your communities by leading your own digital development project.

3. Currently enrolled or recently graduated from tertiary education institution from a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or demonstrably STEM- related academic programme. 

4. Should be able to communicate in English. This language requirement is to ensure that all fellows can be benefit from the planned offerings of trainings, networking and events.

The Young Leaders for the SDGs initiative celebrates exceptional young people who are leading efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every two years, 17 passionate and committed young leaders from across the world are selected to collaborate with the United Nations (UN) and its partners to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs and engage young people globally in this crucial mission.


About the Young Leaders for the SDGs

The Young Leaders for the SDGs come from diverse backgrounds and represent every region of the world. They are individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference and actively driving action toward sustainable development in their communities. Whether in food, fashion, finance, or other sectors, these young leaders use their innovative approaches and platforms to contribute to the realization of the SDGs.


As a community, the Young Leaders for the SDGs work together to amplify youth engagement in the SDGs. They achieve this through strategic opportunities with the United Nations, as well as by leveraging their existing initiatives, platforms, and networks. Their efforts focus on making the SDGs accessible and relatable to young people, enabling them to take meaningful actions in support of the Goals.


What Young Leaders Do

Over the course of their two-year term, Young Leaders for the SDGs engage in various impactful activities, including:


Championing the SDGs: They promote the SDGs through high-profile advocacy, storytelling, and strategic collaborations. Their goal is to make the SDGs relatable and engaging for young people from diverse backgrounds and communities.

Engaging in Global Conversations: Young Leaders participate in global discussions, including UN and international events, ensuring that youth perspectives on sustainable development are heard and amplified.

Inspiring and Mobilizing Communities: They inspire others by utilizing creative and innovative approaches to drive action toward achieving the SDGs.


Collaborating with the UN and Partners: Young Leaders work directly with the UN and its partners, contributing to global initiatives, campaigns, and key moments focused on youth and the SDGs.

Upholding UN Values: Throughout their engagement, they demonstrate integrity, leadership, and accountability, exemplifying the UN’s core values.

Over the years, the Young Leaders have consistently demonstrated their commitment to sustainable development, and their contributions have had a lasting impact. With each new cohort, the initiative continues to grow, amplifying youth voices in shaping a more sustainable world.

The fellowship programme that connects visionary African professionals and leading German companies. Together they pave the way for global inclusive business and mutually beneficial. The programme provides an unparalleled opportunity to young, talented African professionals for a one year career and life transformational experience.


The programme AFRIKA KOMMT! brings together the most visionary young leaders from Africa and leading German companies. Companies benefit from the expertise, knowledge, local network and unique African perspective of the young professionals. The African fellows dive deep into the German corporate specifics, German business spirit and the German culture. Empowered with international experience, technical skills and German language they become African change agents for the sake of both: the German business relations with Africa as well as for economic and social growth in the fellows' home countries and communities.


Programme Details

At the core of the AFRIKA KOMMT! programme is a one-year stay for the African professionals in Germany. During this time, the fellows actively work in their partner companies where they are trained and mentored. Other components organized by GIZ such as language courses, trainings and networking events supplement the learning experience.


Professional and tailor-made selection process: The fellows of the programme are chosen in a comprehensive selection process that is implemented in close cooperation with the participating companies.

Language and cultural integration for fellows: The programme begins with German language and cultural integration courses to prepare the fellows for their stay in Germany. The fellows also get an opportunity to visit cultural heritage sites within Germany.

Management training for fellows: The fellows undergo three modules of intense management training where they advance their knowledge of modern global management practices.

Professional fellowship in partner company: The young experts spend eight months with their partner companies and are engaged in projects and meaningful work experience.

AFRIKA KOMMT! Network: The partner companies and the African professionals come together at various networking events, share expertise and drive common projects.


Alumni phase: After their one-year stay in Germany, the fellows become knowledge and skill transfer ambassadors as alumni in their home countries. A one-week refresher course in Germany or in Africa advances the skill set of the alumni and fosters continued strengthening of the AFRIKA KOMMT! network.

AFRIKA KOMMT! Fellowship Programme Requirements

Be a Citizen of any African country

Have a University degree in a relevant subject

Postgraduate degree (e.g. MBA) is an advantage

Not be older than 35 years at the time of application

Layal Jade Tinubu Unoella Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the second edition of its flagship empowerment program, “Be Empowered!” 2025. This initiative is designed to support and empower young women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, providing them with the necessary resources and funding to start, sustain, and scale their businesses.


Empowerment Fund:


As part of this initiative, the Layal Jade Tinubu Unoella Foundation will be disbursing an Empowerment Fund of ₦60 million among select beneficiaries. This funding will be allocated to support the growth and development of women-led enterprises, with a focus on innovative and scalable business ideas.


Program Objectives:

The “Be Empowered!” initiative aims to achieve the following objectives:

– Provide financial support to young women entrepreneurs to start or scale their businesses

– Offer training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to empower women entrepreneurs

– Foster a community of women entrepreneurs who can support and learn from each other

– Promote women’s economic empowerment and contribute to the growth of the Nigerian economy


Eligibility Criteria:

– Have a viable business idea or an existing business that is less than 3 years old

– Be a Nigerian citizen or resident

– Demonstrate a clear understanding of their business and its potential for growth
