100x is looking for the next generation of social unicorns – organisations affecting positive change on the scale of billions.


100x Impact Accelerator Program is empowering radical thinkers everywhere to deliver the most impact at scale with world-class research in a world-class accelerator.


How? They work together to define your endgame. They reveal groundbreaking ways to amplify your impact – not through endless fundraising – but through tangible, results-driven models like government adoption, digitisation and open-source solutions.


The 100x Impact Accelerator Program is hybrid and spans 12 weeks. One leader from your organization must be able to attend two sponsored trips to London HQ in person.


The trip will last 2-4 days. You will then be expected to participate virtually for the rest of the programme The team will cover transit and visa costs associated with UK travel.


Please note, that the 100x Impact Accelerator program is delivered in English, and you must have a reliable internet connection. If this is an issue, they offer a small stipend to support internet access so that you can fully engage in the program.

The Afri Women Innovation (AWI) Grant is an EquiHER initiative that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and aims to financially assist African women with promising business ideas or existing companies within Africa. The 2023 AWI Grant encompasses entrepreneurship training, mentorship and offers financial backing of $5,000 to women across Africa.


Criteria


•⁠ ⁠Applicants should be female, aged between 18 and 50

•⁠ ⁠Citizenship from any of the 54 African countries is required

•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in English language is necessary for effective communication

Applications are now open for the Chat for Women’s Livelihoods Accelerator Program. An 18-month programme providing training, mentorship and support to 6 social enterprises working to empower women in low-income countries economically. 


Organisations that increase business skills, provide education, access to digital markets and payment tools, as well as those that provide essential mental health or healthcare support among working women and micro-entrepreneurs, are invited to apply.



Requirements


Social Enterprises who want to accelerate their chat service growth and impact with guidance, mentorship, and hands-on implementation support.

The Accelerator is looking for Social Enterprises working in Kenya, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Uganda, Senegal, and Nigeria and other low-income regions that have a clear business case or Theory of Change on how they could use a chat solution on WhatsApp to improve the economic agency of women.

The organisations must be able to commit to the building and continued development of their chat service and have the time, resources or team to accomplish this goal.

The Global Youth Climate Network (GYCN)*, an initiative of the Youth-to-Youth (Y2Y) Community of young professionals at the World Bank Group in collaboration with Connect4Climate (C4C) - a World Bank Group global partnerships program that drives climate action through advocacy, partnerships, and creative communications -, is excited to launch the 2024 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program (MTECAP). We seek motivated young leaders from across the world with a passion for climate solutions and sustainable development and a proven track record of youth community engagement and empowerment.


The Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program is a six-month online program that catalyzes youth climate leadership by enabling participants to: connect with one another; learn from World Bank experts and GYCN and C4C Knowledge Partners; and take meaningful climate action both in their communities and globally. The program offers a mix of technical and hands-on sessions providing the young ambassadors with in-depth knowledge and understanding of climate change and the related challenges explored in the World Bank Group Climate Change Action Plan as well as guidance on how to creatively communicate their newfound knowledge for maximal impact. By the conclusion of the program, each participant will be expected to have attended a predefined number of learning sessions and implemented three concrete climate actions in their community. All those who meet these criteria will graduate and receive a certificate of completion.


Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35, have strong conversational English language skills, and have reliable access to the internet. Beyond these foundational requirements, applicants will be evaluated on each of the following criteria:

Past and current experience as a youth leader in communities at the local, regional, national, or global level.

Demonstrated ability to organize community activities is an advantage.

Passion for climate solutions and sustainable development, and motivation to take action and empower others.

We are looking for self-starters willing to take charge.

Scale and strength of the applicant’s network and active presence on social media.

The potential impact of the applicant’s proposed contributions to their communities and networks.

The SDGs programme is designed as a 4-months intensive training and advocacy programme for Nigerian youths

The training includes 20+ lectures, original readings, and comprehensive assessments that will allow young actors and change makers to deepen their understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal of this programme is to build a community of exceptional young leaders who will champion and promote SDGs advocacy across the nation. This programme seeks to offer youths between 18-35years an opportunity to become one of Nigeria's SDGs advocates , supporting them in the achievement of the SDGs across the 36 States in Nigera.

It promotes  the active participation of youths and the creation of long -lasting change in their communities or immediate environments whilst also contributing to global goals.

AFRICAN GREEN ENTREPRENEURS INVITED TO APPLY FOR ANZISHA PRIZE.

 Applications are open for the latest edition of the Anzisha Prize, which this year is focused on green entrepreneurs combining innovation and sustainability.





The Anzisha Prize seeks to increase the number of job generative entrepreneurs fundamentally and significantly in Africa. 


The initiative believes that a key to doing so is to evaluate, implement and then share models for identifying, training, and connecting high potential, very young entrepreneurs (15-to 22-year-olds) – and their parents and teachers – so that more organisations have better collective success in creating a pipeline of entrepreneurs with the capabilities for scale.


This year, the Anzisha Prize application season is putting a spotlight on the significant impact of entrepreneurship in shaping African societies. With a specific focus on green entrepreneurship,  29 exceptional applicants will be chosen to join the 2023/24 cohort.


By taking part in the Anzisha Prize, these entrepreneurs not only have the opportunity to win a share of grand cash prizes worth over US$60,000, but also receive valuable practical support for their businesses.

Scholarship applications are now open

If you are at least 18 years old on 20 July 2024 and working, volunteering or studying in the area of HIV, you are welcome to apply for a scholarship for AIDS 2024, the 25th International AIDS Conference, which takes place in Munich, Germany, and virtually from 22 to 26 July. The scholarship also supports attendance of the AIDS 2024 pre-conferences, which take place on 21 and 22 July in the conference venue.


The following candidates will be given priority:


Abstract presenters; workshop facilitators and co-facilitators; and Global Village organizers and co-organizers whose submission has been selected for the conference.

Applicants from low-income and lower-middle-income countries.

Applicants who are part of key populations and people living with HIV.

Young people and junior investigators below the age of 35.

Applicants who did not previously receive a scholarship for an International AIDS Conference


Types of financial support


IAS – the International AIDS Society – will award both in-person and virtual scholarships for AIDS 2024. Please indicate your preferred attendance type in your application, as well as the types of financial support you require to participate. Note that given the high demand, we may not be able to grant full scholarships or in-person scholarships to all selected candidates.


In-person attendance:


• Registration for in-person plus virtual attendance (access to all sessions at the conference venue, as well as access to the virtual platform).

Call For Applications: One Million Leaders Africa (OMLA) Fellowship Program 2024


 OMLA annually recruits young African talents who are awarded an OMLA Fellowship. They receive a two-month training in aspects as Leadership, Sustainability, Social innovation and Social entrepreneurship.




After their training, each fellow trains and mentors fifty other young people (Stars), who aspire to create social projects within their communities. The Stars in their turn will train other young people (Starlets). The OMLA Fellows, Stars and Starlets will run community projects during a one-year fellowship. After completing the fellowship, they will become part of the OMLA Alumni community, a support network for One Million Leaders Africa.


OMLA Fellows will be selected for one year. Each OMLA fellow will receive a monthly fellowship stipend for $50 to cover the costs of internet and other logistics incurred for training OMLA stars.

In addition to intensive training and network building, OM will offer Fellows professional development support, including mentorship and a $500 for professional development support (given at the successful completion of the fellowship year).


Eligibility


Applicants should be under 40 years of age;

Based in Africa;

Fluent in English;

Have the habit of reading and be committed to it; should be able to read and give an assessment of at least 3 out of six recommended books within nine (9) months.

Have reliable access to a fast and stable internet connection.

Able to commit at least one year as an OMLA Fellow (This is not a full-time commitment. You can do this fellowship while you stay on your job).

The Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) with support from Ford Foundation, West Africa, seeks applications from young women between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in the National Institute for Leadership and Ending Violence against Women and Girls (NILEVAWG) – a Capacity Building and Mentorship Program designed to empower young women to aspire for leadership and connect voices to end violence against women and girls.


The Institute specifically targets young dynamic women interested in strengthening their leadership capabilities, feminist analysis and movement building skills that will empower them effectively to mobilize both human and legal resources to end gender disparity as well as gender-based violence.


Eligibility Criteria:


 Age Requirement:


Applications are open to females between the ages of 18 to 35 years, across the 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT.


Literacy Level:


Applicants should possess a decent level of literacy, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.


Educational Background:


While a specific educational background is not mandatory, candidates with a diverse range of educational experiences are encouraged to apply.


Commitment to the Program:


Candidates must express a genuine commitment to actively participate in and benefit from the entire 6-month mentorship program.


Essay Submission:


As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit an essay (maximum of 500 words) on the following topic: “Role of Technology in Fight against Violence against Women and Girls” to be submitted at the time of the application. Articles can focus on the theme from a personal or other contextual perspective.


This essay will serve as a key component in assessing candidates.


Assessment Method:


In addition to the essay submission, candidates will undergo a brief virtual interview. This interview will provide an opportunity for candidates to further articulate their goals, aspirations, and expectations from the mentorship program. It also allows the selection committee to assess communication skills, motivation, and overall suitability for the program.

The program is committed to diversity and inclusivity. Candidates from various backgrounds, industries, and experiences are encouraged to apply.


Training and Mentorship:


Successful applicants will undergo a mandatory three (3) day capacity-building training, followed by a comprehensive six-month mentorship phase.

The NextechCzar focuses on technology-enabled businesses in key sectors such as financial services, agriculture, health, education, circular economy, e-mobility, e-commerce, marketplaces, renewables, power, and climate. Applications are now open for the 2024 ‘Open Minds - Young Voices’ Youth Activists Programme!


The Open Minds - Young Voices Programme (OMYV) is an empowerment program organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), a German political foundation. It aims at developing young, motivated, and outspoken Nigerians who are working and advocating for social justice and good governance. 


Location and Period of Programme


• March to November 2024 at Wuse II, Abuja.

• Every second and fourth weekend of the month, for 16 - 18 weekends.

• Saturdays from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm; and Sundays from 12.00 pm – 5.00 pm.


Eligibility


Candidates must be:


•  between the ages of 18 and 32 by the time of application,

• conversant with socio-economic and political issues in Nigeria,

• creative, progressive, and willing to become change agents,

• have the potential to be positive role models,

• able to communicate fluently in English and partake in regular group assignments,

• resident in Abuja or surroundings and cater for their transportation to/from the training.
